Vine Arrows assist in vertical exploration. When fired into wooden surfaces or metal grates, a vine will fall and provide a means of ascension.
Uses
- Allows access to otherwise unreachable areas
- Assists with infiltration or escape
- Can be retrieved
Tactics
An organic and more versatile variant of the Rope Arrow, Vine Arrows were introduced during the Metal Age, as the City began to rapidly industrialize.
This resulted in much more metalwork which in turn meant Rope Arrows were no longer as useful. Creative criminals, however, quickly devised a new tool for infiltration and exploration.
In truth however, the metal grates are fairly rare in Thief II: The Metal Age, so the Vine Arrow is mainly used as a replacement to the Rope Arrow.
