Gas Arrows are noxious elemental arrows that release a cloud of gas on impact rendering their target unconscious.
Uses
- Knocks out Humans and most other enemies from afar
- Extinguishes torches and fireplaces
- Disables Mechanist Constructs
Tactics
Gas Arrows are the most expensive of all arrow types and are some of the most costly equipment available. Their high price is a result of both rarity and utility as they are difficult to find outside of shops and are capable of knocking out multiple Human and Beast enemies with a single shot.
Similar to the deadly Fire Arrow, Gas Arrows do not arc. Instead, they fly forward without falling until they strike a surface or enemy, regardless of how far you pull back the bowstring.
Upon impact the elemental crystal shatters and releases a cloud of noxious gas. The blast radius is relatively small but still large enough to knock out multiple targets in close proximity if properly aimed.
Despite their effectiveness against most enemies, there are a few exceptions. Undead foes, for instance, are totally immune to the gas and some Mechanists wear masks or helmets that protect them from it as well.
Gas Arrows can also extinguish torches or fires like a Water Arrow, though their availability makes this more of a last resort strategy. In addition, they can disable all Mechanist Constructs, regardless of size, with one shot to their rear exhaust vent.
